I drink a lot of tea. Probably about 6 cups a day of various sorts on average. I should also preface that for loose teas, I don't care about leaf appearance, and only a little about the color of the liquor. It's all about the flavor. Here are my thoughts on what I drink:

[Twinings]

  • Earl Grey: One of the better pre-packaged teas on the market, and my favorite earl grey.
  • English Breakfast: Regular or decaf, this is my tea of choice when I'm feeling lazy. Nice mild black tea blend in a bag.

[Tealuxe]

  • Assam organic: Probably my favorite black tea. Rich, malty, earthy, bitter, with some sharp acidic notes. Wonderful with a bit of milk
  • Royal Coconut: A nice floral green tea with lots of coconut flavor. Good hot, spectacular iced.
  • Vanilla Nut Mate: Very easy to drink, especially with a touch of sweetener. A good alternative to black tea.
  • Masala Chai: Tasty chai. Works best if you actually boil it in the water for ~5 minutes. Deep flavorful tea, great with milk, sugar, and honey.
  • Pumpkin spice chai: Strong vanilla flavor and aroma. Another one that's good with milk, sugar, and honey.

[Upton Tea Imports]

  • Tippy Orthodox FBOP (Assam): A nice malty assam with lots of delicate floral notes as well.
  • Banaspaty Est FTGFOP (Assam): Floral and malty and not particularly bitter.
  • Harishpur Estate TGFOP (Assam): Malty, earthy, a little light, but still very pleasant.
  • Halmari CTC BOP (Assam): Earthy, malty, rich, acidic. Pretty much my ideal assam.
  • Halmari GTGFBOP CL (Assam): Rich and malty, less earthy and bitter than the CTC. Very nice.
  • Halmari GTGFBOP CL (Assam): Rich and creamy, lovely malty aroma, very smooth and easy to drink. A little lighter than the CTC.
  • Halmari GTGFOP 1 (TA86)(Assam): Rich, malty, with the slightest hint of acidic sourness at the finish. Very pleasant and easy to drink.
  • Halmari GTGFOP 1 (TA93)(Assam): Malty, almost sweet tea with very little bitterness and hits of cinnamon and other sweet spices. Very easy to drink.
  • Daisajan GTGFOP (Assam): Very mild, delicate flavor with hints of malt. Not at all bitter or acidic.
  • Zaloni Estate STGFOP (TA36) (Assam): Rich, Malty, even a little fruity. Surprisingly nice for a free sample.
