Chris: Eric has a brother now. Cat and George will likely be offline for a while.
I'm sure an official announcement will follow once they've had some time.
Hernz: holy crap! I knew she looked like she was about to explode! :)
Congrats!
Fi: Repelled? Is it that unpleasant here?
Vegeta: they'll find we're not your typical mosquitos
Fi: [quietly to Vegeta] I don't think the rest of the party wants to be compared to blood sucking creatures after what we just went through.

Vegeta gives a hearty laugh
Vegeta: Not bad elf haha

(GM) Chad S. (GM): Yes, I added some downtime for snow and new family members.
As you approach the city limits, you hear the sounds of armored soldiers approaching you.
From the looks of it, members of the militia are approaching with their longspears at the ready.
Their armor bears a crude outline of a green dragon.
They have clearly spotted you.
(GM) Chad S. (GM): How do you guys react? They are still a few hundred feet away from your position.

Vegeta does not back down from anyone, much less lowly soldiers

Hernz: what's their intent?
hm... that should be a 30... trying to figure out where the extra 1 came from... don't have any buffs on.... time to reset everythign from the last update maybe
(GM) Chad S. (GM): Vegeta suspects they are trying to stop the party from entering town. Something about the group has upset them greatly.
Vegeta: Claire... want to deal with them? I'm sure beating them to a pulp won't bode well for our trip in later
Hernz: oh, and skills, if you check/uncheck the requires training checkbox, it will then calc properly
Guard: Halt! This village is under protection of the Great Dragon. Tell Freiza that he and his allies are not welcome here!
(GM) Chad S. (GM): Vegeta realizes the militia think he's wearing Frieza's armor.

Oh, that was actually a good roll for Vegeta!
Vegeta: [party] one of you step in or I'm not gonna be able to hold back

Fi: At least until we get off this crazy continent.

State your business.
Meghan: Did we do this last time?
Dude, we need to paint your armor a different color or something
or get "FRIEZA STINKS" embroidered on it or something
make you look like a mockery of him.
The guards grin.
Guard: Frieza's troops haven't set foot in this town ever since the great dragon offered us protection and training.
As long as you don't cause trouble you are welcome to the Wharf.

Vegeta rolls his eyes, dumps his useless armor off, and switches to a stylish pink dress shirt
Vegeta: let's get on with this... ridiculous
(GM) Chad S. (GM): Ahh he has the shirt!!!
Hernz: it was either that or shirtless
(GM) Chad S. (GM): No one is prepared to handle Vegeta Shirtless lol
Hernz: ok, so we came here for what again? sorry, it's been a while, it's like having to rewatch the last episode of g=game of thrones before the new one
(GM) Chad S. (GM): You are here to extend East Ferren Trading Company's influence.
Chris: Yeah, we're trying to re-establish trade routes and potentially rally some support for a joint attack on the warlords.
Hernz: ty!
Vegeta: We come to speak with your leader. Can you assist us?
Hernz: charming vegeta
Guard: Our leader...
Come, I will bring you to the captain, head of the militia here. He can determine if you may visit our leader.

Welcome to Fisherman's Wharf!

Welcome to Fisherman's Wharf! Unsurprisingly this is mostly a fishing village.
Small houses dot the landscape, especially those near the pier. The hill you saw in the distance is a cliff overlooking the ocean.
Many villagers appear to take a look at the newcomers. Some seem surprised, others suspicious. A few are quite excited.
You are brought to the militia's headquarters, where banners adorn the halls. All bear the sigil of a green tinted dragon.
You are told to sit in a room and wait. A few minutes later, Captain Ferras arrives.
Captain Ferras: Greetings, everyone.
Captain Ferras sits down
Captain Ferras: So, tell me what brings you here.
(GM) Chad S. (GM): Welp, time for a meeting.
Cat: yay meeting!
oh wait.

(GM) Chad S. (GM): Meetings!
Assuming you guys explain the East Ferren Trading Company.
Captain Ferras listens to your proposal.
Captain Ferras: For now, we are doing well and require no assistance. Besides, we've heard rumors about Dragon Breakers trying to make their way up here. The Great Dragon has protected us for almost a decade... we'll not betray her.
Feel free to spend some time in town, make yourself comfortable.
Any other questions you have for me?

We're going to take down Frieza... any interest in partaking in the glory?
Hernz: might need better convincing lol
Fi: We heard that the weather here had been behaving oddly. Is that your protector?
Even if you might not need anything now, we are reopening trade routes to the interior of the continent. You may find high demand for your fish on the interior.
We understand that there are mercenary groups that have been plaguing the towns throughout this land. We're planning to launch an offensive against them, and we wanted to know if you would be willing to offer any military support in a joint effort to fight them.
Chris: I think that's all the topics.
Cat: sounds good to me.
Hernz: And now we let Claire diplo bomb that :)
realtime 3/20 8.17 p
Captain Ferras: The rain isn't the Great Dragon's fault.
We've seen citizens from other cities try to form resistances. We got lucky Selvaydon moved in to the top of the hill, here.
Other towns were either destroyed or they got the remains of their leaders.
Enjoy your time here. When those other trade routes are open, maybe we'll talk about fish sales.
Now then, I have cadets to train. Be on your way.
And with that, Captain Ferras finishes up. The guards escort you out of the office.
A light rain drizzles over the city.
(GM) Chad S. (GM): Where to next, folks? You met the militia, but not much else.
Hernz: sounds like they don't want to form a resistance... which veg is happy with anyway
Vegeta: [party] probably for the best they don't get involved... they'd get in the way anyway
Fi: Anyone else want to meet the dragon?
Also, should possible talk to the civil leader rather than just the military leader. (Assuming they're different)
Hernz: Veg wouldn’t mind meeting the dragon. From tales, they’re a sight to be feared... he should be able to hold his composure...

It's a dragon!

realtime 3/22 7.59 pm
(GM) Chad S. (GM): From asking around in the town, you discover a bit about the town.
The Great Dragon serves as the de facto leader, although she leaves the day-to-day duties to the Militia.
There was a mayor, but he was killed in a thunderstorm over ten years ago, before the dragon moved in. The mayor's son is still alive, in town.
Technically, you're supposed to get the militia's permission to meet the dragon. She's up on the cave on top of the cliffs overlooking the sea.
If you want, you can get permission or you can sneak up there. Either way:
The party leaves the city limits and goes uphill. The rain has picked up a bit from drizzle to a light rain.
As you go uphill the distinct smell of raw fish wafts into your nostrils.
As you reach the top, you find a single horn protruding from a dragon covered in scales the color of emeralds.
A gigantic eye the size of your forearm opens up as the creature wakes up.
(GM) Chad S. (GM): You're about 240 feet from the dragon. If you want to get closer, I'll need a DC 23 Will Save vs Fear.
If anyone wants to ID the dragon, give me a K. Arcana check, DC 30.
Also, give me an Int check.

Hawk knows instantly this is an Old Green Dragon. These creatures usually claim domain over forests, but they can breathe water as well as they breathe the air.
(GM) Chad S. (GM): With Nidri's help, Hawk can ask one more question.
The eye opens up, and a 20 foot tall dragon emerges. She yawns.
Selvaydon the Great Dragon: Newcomers? Leave the food here.
Where is my fish? I can't protect you on an empty stomach!
(GM) Chad S. (GM): Well, you got the dragon's attention. What do you do from here?
Cat: fi asked about meeting the dragon...i'm'a let fi talk.
Hernz: Fi is afraid and likely is the one that can't talk to it lol
Chris: Sorry, I didn't pull my laptop out all weekend.
Fi wanted to know a few things if possible: Why the dragon took up residence here. How long it was planning to stay. If it knows what is causing the weird weather and elementals nearby.
That weather is going to be an issue with opening up a trade route.
Also, would be helpful to know if the dragon would help us in an offensive against Freeza or would stay completely out of it.
Don't want to beg for help, just curious.

(GM) Chad S. (GM): I added Fi's questions onto the board.
Everyone who failed the save is frightened for 16 rounds and must flee. But you're not sure how long she will tolerate your presence, so you'll need to placate her quickly or back off.

Selvaydon the Great Dragon: Well! At least some of you tiny folk are grateful.
Now then, let's see... can you believe some idiots came into MY forest and tried attack me? I've been in a turf war with that idiot fairy , and now some more tiny folk run around, wearing fake Vegeta armor?
I come here and I see an impressive cave, and a group of mortals begging me for their protection. They want to be ruled, they want commands, and so I commanded them.
Taught them what I know about defense. Made their militia actually competent.
And scared off the enemy elite unit, their... Ginyu Force or whatever.
Selvaydon the Great Dragon grins
Selvaydon the Great Dragon: The people of the wharf pay me with two things: fish and a cut of the profits. I'll take both and keep defending them from this Frieza until he dies.
The rain is rather unusual, but it's not by Frieza's hand so I don't care.
I don't plan to leave this village for quite some time. It's quite profitable here.
...I think that answers all of your questions. What were your names, again?
(To Hawk Hubertins): , Make a Will Save, DC 16. If you fail, tell me what Hawk's surface thoughts are.
Selvaydon the Great Dragon: At any rate, we are done with the free part of this... interview. Pay me in money or fish, or get out of my face.
(GM) Chad S. (GM): Press your luck with more questions? Return to town and ask the townsfolk for more information? Screw this town, we're outta here?
Vegeta: hm... the ginyu force huh? hm... sounds like I'll have to do more than scare them off...
[dragon] we'll go make your job easier

Vegeta is starting to get excited, getting closer to these goons... he's itching for some ass kickin'
Chris: I'm interested in who the "idiot fairy" is. Decision lies at the feet of those up front through.
Hernz: so many questions I'd ask as a player... but not as vegeta :)

The rain dies down as you return to town.
As you return, you see the town guards and crowds of people in the Fishmonger's Market.
It's clear the guards are investigating a murder. A man killed in the middle of the road, during a rainstorm.
Vegeta notices some of the villagers seem more upset about the guard than the murder itself.
Vegeta also notices other villagers notice the party and are checking notes.

Cat: oh boy, murders again.
George: That seems to happen to us a lot. We show up somewhere and people start dropping dead. Correlation != Causation
Chris: Fleir, haven't I told you to stop doing that?
Also, I love how having Vegeta in the party gets us into more trouble with the locals than bringing a big wolf with us.

Curiously, the town guard seem to be more focused on preventing a riot rather than protecting the body. You have no trouble investigating it.
A man, in his late 20s/early 30s. Seeming cause of death: drowning? You see way too much water coming from him.
Eventually, the crowd scatters, mumbling about how useless the guards are.
It looks like you have 2 interested parties: one group is suspicious of you, and the other seems excited by your presence.
Vegeta: [group B] can we help you?
Cat: mm. first, weird rain and water elementals, now a suspicious drowning.

Shavanni's fan club

realtime 4/5, 7.36p
The group of excited people quickly usher you away from the scene of the crime.
They lead you down the streets into a building on the outskirts of town.
Sellan Feramis: My name is Sellan. Last name Feramis. I'm so glad you came. Follow me. Spies are everywhere!
Inside the building, you find people of all sizes and ages. All of them are reading books about the basics of magic, the secrets of fortune telling, and some spend their time drawing an elven woman wearing tattered robes.
Sellan Feramis: Everyone, look! It's the five travelers, with the large wolf! Just as she fortold!
The people in the building are quite excited. They stand up and crowd around you. Although some are quite confused by Darius's appearance.
Darius Kolphan keeps his mouth shut and simply waves
Sellan Feramis: Is- he with you? Shavanni the Sage said there would be five of you, here to save us.
The last mayor died over ten years ago. These people from the army of Frieza- they wore strange clothing. They overran us during a horrid thunderstorm.
And then that dragon scared them off, but she just demands tribute. It's working us to the bone.
Shavanni came here and told us she would fight the dragon for us. Did she tell you what happened?
(GM) Chad S. (GM): Feel free to ask Sellan questions about the town.
Fi: Shavanni... Oh right, we met her in the Krimson Forest. I think the Dragon Breakers mentioned she was hunting the green dragon.
Haven't seen her in months though.
The fan club murmur about themselves with a mix of confusion and worry.
Sellan Feramis: She must... she must be planning! Carefully!
If she is too open about defeating the dragon, that strange army will attack us during the confusion. Yes, that's it!
Fi: When did you see her last?
Sellan Feramis: Maybe a month ago? We have to meet her here in secret. It's why our home is so... not well furnished.

Fi nods.
Fi: Well, we are planning to deal with Frieza. The dragon's protection should be unnecessary after that.
I'm also concerned over the strange storms happening nearby. We encountered some water elementals on the way here. And it seems there may be some effects in the town as well?
Most of the people fall silent when Fi mentions the rain. Sellan loses some enthusiasm.
Sellan Feramis: The rain... it wasn't always this bad. Sure, we're a fishing village. Sometimes a storm hits us during the summer. But this...
Ever since the mayor died, we've had bad storms. Each storm seems to leave someone dead. I've seen their faces; it's like they drowned at sea and were transported here.
And the worst part? The militia can't be bothered to investigate. "The time we waste investigating one death is time Frieza gains to overrun us" or such nonsense.
The mayor's son, he's gone mad, I say. He and his friends on the Pier, they're always scheming and plotting their revenge against the rain.
Ha! How do you fight the rain?
Sellan Feramis laughs, and several members have a chuckle
Sellan Feramis: Well, maybe Shavanni could. We will continue to wait for her so she can save the town. Hopefully she does so, quickly...
The mayor's son is usually at Pier 17. You can visit him and see how broken he is.
Fi: Yes. We should do that.
How did the mayor die?
From the storm or just during?
Sellan Feramis: It's not.. clear how he died. Some of Frieza's men had broken into the mayor's villa and threatened to kill him unless the militia retreated. Then a tidal wave hit the building and flattened most of the structure.
The enemy and the mayor were swept out to see, and that's the last we saw of them.
Frieza's troops laid siege to the city, taking whatever they wanted- whomever they wanted. Until the so-called "Great" dragon flew by and chased them away.
She didn't care much for collateral damage, but she did demand money and food from us in exchange for protection.
Fi: So Selvaydon has been here since that time 10 years ago?
Sellan Feramis nods
Chris: Ok. I'll take a break to let others ask questions. Then we should see the mayor's son.
Vegeta: [party] heh, we might get shot at that dragon too... that should be fun... but frieza first
You have any leads on Frieza?
Hernz: side note, I forget what shavanni did in battle... did she fight? forget if she was an npc who fought with us... sorry
Chris: She's the one that sees the future. Dakan's Lover.
And the one Melodie is jealous of.
Hernz: Danke
realtime 4/8 7.29 am
Sellan Feramis: Frieza? Ah yes, that barbarian. Shavanni told us he and their men overtook some kingdom in the east and use it as their homeland.
They've grown quite large, and they're recruiting mercenaries around the continent.
They haven't been around since that dragon scared them out. Her appearance is a mixed blessing, I guess. But if Shavanni can drive out a dragon, then she can drive out Frieza!
The followers cheer, full of hope again.
Sellan Feramis: You can come back with any extra questions you may have, here.

Velos Crabcracker and the wannabe rebellion

The party makes their way to the pier, asking about the mayor's son. They are quickly directed to Pier 17.
It's quite rowdy at this pier, with fewer quiet villagers and more boistrous braggards. And more seafaring folk. Dockworkers, Sailors and Fishermen acting tougher than they need to be.
One human in his early 20s sports a variety of scars and is standing atop a crate. With a scimitar in one hand and a tankard of ale in the other, he tells a tale of how his men sailed through one of the worst storms in the last year.
You know the man's name is Velos Crabcracker, and everyone promptly notices you.
Velos Crabcracker: Well well, it's the newcomers! Are ya done with Sellan and his wimpy wishers? Hopefully you didn't see Captain Ferras and the stick up her bum that dragon gave her!
Finally came to join the winning team? I'm Velos Crabcracker, son of the late great Mayor Crabcracker.
The crowd takes a moment of silence to mourn the fallen mayor.
Velos Crabcracker: Who are you, and what brings you here? Are you Dragon Breakers, by chance? Keep that on the down low if you are.
Vegeta: [pre-crabcracker] He DARES make my kingdom his home?! Oh Frieza, you are a dead man
Fi: Uh, unless you're from this continent, I don't that's the kingdom Sellan was talking about.
Chris: If I recall, there was a Dwarven Kingdom to the East that was our next stop.
Fi: We're representatives of the East Ferren Trading Company. Our primary objective is to open trade routes for our goods. To reach our objective, we tackle barriers that stand in the way.
We're currently seeking allies around the continent to take on Frieza and his mercenaries.
We also noticed the strange storms that have been brewing since we arrived here. We'll probably need to do something about those as well. Not good for trade.
Chris: Perhaps Hawk could cover for my bluntness.

Velos motions the party to sit down.
Velos Crabcracker: Sit, sit.
These storms started ten years ago. My papa was the last REAL leader of this town. He knew how to keep the fishing and shipping business alive.
But the storm hit just as those... fiends came from Vegeta. They gave us the option of obedience, or death. My papa chose death- their death!
The doc workers cheer!
Velos Crabcracker: They chased him to his home by the coast. He told his little boy to flee, and he held a last stand. Just then! The sea rose up and swallowed him, Frieza's goons and the house away!
I never forgot his sacrifice, too bad others did. As soon as the dragon showed up the military bowed their heads to their new master
Well, I've been training our forces. We're going to get freedom from that Dragon, freedom from the corrupt militia, freedom from those hopeless losers waiting for a miracle.
Freedom or death!
the workers cheer loudly, excited!
Velos Crabcracker: Now, about the storm. Someone's behind it. Everytime we get a storm like this, someone winds up dead and no one seems to care.
Someone is setting up these storms, I swear. I thought I saw a woman once, made of water. But she knows how to hide.
I know you guys are Dragon Breakers. You get rid of the Dragon and ensure our safety against Frieza, and you've got my full support.
But if you're going to leave us, then we'll fight them all!
So, what say you?
Vegeta: I was planning on taking Frieza down anyway... consider it gratis
Chris: Can't say Fi wants to take on the dragon right now. Would be more interested in figuring out the storms and dealing with Frieza first. Dragon after that? Maybe with the breakers involved?
Or do we deal with dragon first, then get support from this town to deal with Frieza...
I feel like Frieza is the more immediate threat. How strained is the town right now dealing with the Dragon's tribute?
Cat: i say deal with the storms and frieza first.
then figure out where the dragon stands with frieza gone

Vegeta votes Frieza
realtime 4/11 6.55p
Velos and the group cheer as Vegeta promises to take down Frieza!
Velos Crabcracker: That's what I want to hear. You take Frieza down and we'll deal with this dragon.
Taxes have been increasing lately, to pay for the militia, so they can keep feeding the dragon. We've lost plenty of business due to increased tariffs. Fishermen would rather sail around the continent than deal with us.
I don't know how to deal with the storms- I've only seen this woman once in my ten years here. Your best bet would be to keep watch, but good luck on loitering around. The militia keeps a look on any suspicious loitering.
As for Frieza, there is a training camp a few days outside of town. I've heard the Ginyu Force are stationed there, training new recruits. I've heard they are quite tough, but maybe you'll have better luck.
Hernz: Is that camp one of the ones we have identified in the map?
Chris: I don't think that one was anywhere close.
Ok. Shall we attempt to dig up info on the storms / witch or investigate the Ginyu Force?
Vegeta: This witch kills a person every day. Frieda wipes out races on a whim. Let’s deal with him first
Cat: spit the party! leave darius here to start Investigating, so he doesn't get killed again lol
Hernz: Lmao
Meghan: so we should kill frieza, take over the ginyu force, and then throw them at the dragon, right?
Hernz: And learn the ginyu dance of joy https://youtu.be/2ZYffdgkFLk
realtime 4/16 4.06 pm
(GM) Chad S. (GM): Thanks for discussing stuff while I shirked my GM duties.
The party discusses what the next step should be.
Velos Crabcracker: Well you can go east of town if you want to see those fools. Beware, if you're not dressed like them they tend to shoot first and ask questions later.
...We did manage to "procure" a few of their outfits, though! Hahaha!
I like you guys, you remind me of the Dragon Breakers. I've heard they were trying to expand their reach. Made a deal with some big guys recently.
I know you guys will do best with us, but maybe you want to hear offers from the other groups first. That way you know I mean business!
Chris: So, grab some armor and blend in? I'm up for that.
Vegeta: great...
realtime 4/19 9.40am

The party's next step?

(GM) Chad S. (GM): The party talks to some of the major groups in town, and hears 3 major plans.
Velos Crabcracker: We have some of Frieza's equipment. You can sneak into the Ginyu training camp and maybe weaken them! Then we won't need that stupid dragon anymore!
Sellan Feramis: Shavanni told us where she took shelter last month. Perhaps you can find out where she went. Then she will return and save us!
Captain Ferras: Fine, listen. The Great Dragon is keeping Frieza at bay. If you want to, we can just combine our forces and assault the Ginyu camp directly. Selvaydon will keep us safe until the end of time.
Vegeta: vegeta would rather go into the camp and take some (if not all) of frieza's men out, but he also wants a crack at the dragon haha
Chris: Fi thinks friend in trouble > dealing with the Ginyu. Also these drowning murders seems a bigger threat to the city right now since the dragon will keep the Ginyu force out of town for now.
Hernz: pfft friends in trouble... pfffft
realtime 4/21 11.09a
After much discussion, the group decides the best course of action is to find Shavanni.
Velos grimaces.
Velos Crabcracker: ...I get it, I get it. It's not your problem, and you gotta find that wonder wizard who is going to solve all of our problems with a wave of her wand or something.
Well, we'll be here solving the real problems, like that dragon, and these storms. Don't let lose hopeful losers waste too much of your time!
Captain Ferras shrugs when you reject her offer.
Captain Ferras: As you wish. We'll continue keeping the peace here. The Great Dragon's done a great job so far, and she'll keep it up as long as we can support her.
Sellan Feramis and the other outcasts are overjoyed and look up to you as if you are their saviors.
Sellan Feramis: See, everyone? Shavanni said allies would come, and so they have!
Sellan Feramis shakes all of your hands
Sellan Feramis: Oh glory to all of us!
I will have all of the information ready in the morning. I keep my equipment quite hidden, I'm afraid!
So you should sleep here for the night. The militia patrols the evening and would prefer us not to be out. Oh, we will have a feast!
The hopefuls break out into festivities, playing music, breaking into dance, and bringing as much bread, cheese and ale as you want to consume.
Darius Kolphan: How quick they are, to rely on a hero.
This town has a very tricky balance, yes? Almost anything will disrupt it at this rate.
(GM) Chad S. (GM): Okay, I'm going to fast forward to the next morning, September 14 1236 AD. Anything you want to do during the night? Speak today or hold your peace!
Cat: i can't think of anything.
Hernz: Nothing from veg
Chris: Happy Birthday, Chad!

September 14, 1236 AD (morning)
The militia patrols increase and they ask more people what they were doing last night. Rumors circulate one of the guards was washed out to sea during a particularly nasty rainfall last night.
Sellan Feramis: We were all in here, including the newcomers. Maybe you should ask the dragon what it was doing last night, eh?
The guards continue their patrols, a bit more tired and irritable than usual.
Sellan Feramis: Their reliance on that terrible dragon dooms us all.
Sellan Feramis turns to you and pulls out a map of the nearby area.
Sellan Feramis: I heard a story, long ago, about giant mollusks who wore shells teller than that dragon. They used to live in the coasts outside of here.
They made homes.
Along the beach. The shells are still there to this day.
Shavanni said she used one of them as a temporary home, so she could do research without endangering us.
About a month ago, she said she was going to pack up and then attack you-know-who. That's the last we heard of her.
Vegeta: let's go check out that beach area
George: Happy Birthday Chad!
Hawk Hubertins: That sounds like a good place to start.
realtime 4/25 9.51 am
A foggy day leads to light drizzle as you leave town.
Darius spends most of the trip trying to make sense of the notes he wrote while his soul travelled across the afterlife.
Darius Kolphan: It seemed so calm out there. Er, in the afterlife, I mean. You lose sense of time, I felt Reval and I conversed for centuries.
Yet if you ask me to remember, it feels like a blank. I died, and then I woke up again. Quite the surreal experience.
I heard you fell in battle, Fi. How did it feel?

(Maggie and Ember both rolled 1s the first time we tried. In the followup, Maggie rolled a 20 and Ember rolled a 19. So I guess we figured it out)

Happy Mother's Day
(GM) Chad S. (GM): You can't make 5 foot steps in difficult terrain, so I'll let her combine her move + sniff actions and attack once.
This provokes an AoO.
Water Slam: 20 for 19
lol
Fleir steps up and takes a bite out of water based crime.
Darius continues running for cover, when he catches a glimpse of the woman behind the attack.
Darius Kolphan: Ah, my good friend. Cease this attack, we are not your enemy!
(GM) Chad S. (GM): Undine's Will Save 5
Undine: Wh-what? You are? But... ergh.
Frustrated and confused, the Undine raises another fog cloud around her.
Fleir sees the remaining water elemental is quite confused. But it stares right back at Fleir and focuses its rage on her.
(GM) Chad S. (GM): Oh, I should have rolled for concealment. At 5 ft away you have 20% concealment, but further away you have 50% and can't use sight.
Fleir's miss chance (low is bad) 99
Water elemental's miss change (under 20 is a miss) 97
Water elemental's miss change (under 20 is a miss) 17
Slam AC 34 for 17 damage
Fleir is pummeled once, and then watches another burst of water splash the sand nearby.
Darius's fake wall collapses back into the sand.

(GM) Chad S. (GM): Party is up.

Vegeta unleashes his Gallick Gun across the edge of the beach, into the cloud!
He hears nothing, though...
(GM) Chad S. (GM): Rest of the party is up.
Meghan: I never get to try to call a truce
at some point it's going to be just Claire vs, like, 20 goblins or something and she's going to be like "okay settle down."
George: With just the undine left, should Hawk bother keeping his song going?

Happy Birthday, Chris!
(GM) Chad S. (GM): We can drop out of combat rounds, if you want. If not, please tell me what you plan to do.
Fi: She's probably jumped into the water.

Fi moves out of the ice.
Hernz: if the undine fled, let it be I guess... with a 0 str, not like veg could chase her anyway lol
realtime 5/20 8.51 am
(GM) Chad S. (GM): You decide to wait patiently, but she probably fled at this point.
Combat Over

Shavanni's home away from home?

Darius Kolphan: Hmpf. I did try to charm her.
What was she about, anyway?
If that was the water witch, is this her home?
Some of the hollowed shells are used by small vermin as nests. Some are full of seaweed, stones, and anything else that washed ashore.
One of the shells looks plain, but further inspection reveals an illusion.
Heading inside, you find the inside of the shell is much larger than it should be. The interior is filled with books about magical study, in particular transformation and divination.
There are also a pile of personal notes left throughout the room.
(GM) Chad S. (GM): Option A: Search through the arcane books.
Option B: Search through the personal journals.
Option C: Search the room for hidden stuff.
George: Can we split it and some of us do each thing?
Or does the whole party have to do one of those three options?
Hernz: veg will take searching for hidden stuff... doubt he can help with the others
Meghan: My spellcraft is higher than my perception so searching the arcane things is my jam
but then again I'm super nosy so maybe the personal stuff
Chris: Fi would take either B or C.
realtime 5/22 6.56 pm
(GM) Chad S. (GM): You all split up to search the room in a shorter amount of time.
Claire begins flipping through the arcane books, hoping for some magical secret that will aid her journey.
Fi sits down to read some personal journals, most of them are about love for her son and lust for her lover.
Vegeta begins searching the floor and walls for signs of hidden caches.
(GM) Chad S. (GM): There are skills associated with each route. Choose ONE skill and make a roll.
Chris: Bleh. Linguistics or K. Local. I've got Linguistics at +4, so I suspect Hawk would be best suited to rummage through the personal journals.
Fi will have to join Vegeta on searching then.
Unless no one else takes option B.
Hernz:

Chris: To the right of the map.

George: Ah, right where I can't see them. Got it.
Hrm. Hawk can do either K or Survival at +13, but Hawk can take 10 or roll on the K skills.
Chris: I think Vegeta and Fi can have Option C covered.
George: Sounds like Hawk should probably go for option B.
Cat: nidri can help with A

Nidri and Claire read through Shavanni's books on manual theory. They both know it talks a lot about transmutation and predicting the future. Claire understands the basics, but Nidri's research reveals much deeper insights.
(GM) Chad S. (GM): I'll roll up treasure for this later, but you basically found some high level arcane scrolls in there.
Vegeta does what he does best- scan the room for hidden items. The mugs used to have some drink inside, but almost all of it has evaporated. Open ink bottles dot the tables next to her journals.
Vegeta finds a hidden doorway to what seems to be a bedroom, clothing and bedding scattered about. He isn't able to make full sense of it.
(GM) Chad S. (GM): I'll give Hawk some time to make his skill checks.

I’m assumimg veg points out the hidden room to the party... maybe they can make sense of a bedroom.
realtime 5/27 2.04 p
(GM) Chad S. (GM): Okay, not the rolls I was expecting.
Buuut...
Vegeta points out the ruined bedroom.
Hawk reads through plenty of Shavanni's personal journals. She loves her son. She loves her not-quite husband.
Fi and Fleir notice her clothing strewn about the room in disorganized messes.
As you continue searching, Vegeta notices the sound of air whooshing...
He traces it back to what he guesses is the bathroom. He can feel an air current inside...
Vegeta: hm... let's see where this leads... there's an air current here...
realtime 5/28 6.07p
Vegeta pulls open the door to the bathroom, only for it to pop off its hinges. An open portal pulls in air and with his proximity he's close to its pull!
(GM) Chad S. (GM): Vegeta, give me a strength check!
You can make a DC 22 Spellcraft check to identify, but you'll also need to make a Strength check

Vegeta manages to fight against the hurricane-force winds and slams the door shut.
After telling everyone about it, Nidri decides to take a look. Properly braced, she takes a look.
(GM) Chad S. (GM): The portal is some kind of planar teleport circle.
Entering this portal to the Plane of Incarcerium, the Infinite Prison.
Whatever happened here, it must have been a great surprise.
(GM) Chad S. (GM): Okay, it seems like she isn't here, and there's a portal to a hellish dimension in there. Where to, next?
Chris: Whelp. Looks like she's gone. Where to next? ;-)
Fi: So... she just wakes up one day to use the bathroom and whoosh? She sucked into that thing?
So... does this go to a different place than where Vegeta ended up last time?
I take it that I can't tie a rope off here and dangle it through as a way back...
Hawk Hubertins: Oh, is that where it goes? I'm not an expert, but I'd expect a vortex like that wouldn't allow two way travel, or she'd be back by now.
Meghan: maybe she is the dragon
Cat: so, anybody wanna go to hell? ;)
Meghan: yay hellmouth
super fun
realtime 5/31 7.52 pm
(GM) Chad S. (GM): Well, there's a portal to hell. What's your next move?
You could hop into the portal, you could take the journals and head back to town (what will you tell the Shavanni rescue committee?) Or you could deal with the Dragon/Ginyu stalemate.
Vegeta: I say we go and see where this leads... I bet there plenty of ass kicking to be dished in hell, heh
Fi: I'm fine with going. Anybody have any idea what to expect in there before we just jump in?

Hawk knows this dimension is an endless maze designed to keep creatures in but not out.
