View source for Mutie's Honey Butter Recipe

While attending my first SCA GNE war (the same one referred to in the "Pot Roast" recipe), I was introduced to the best breakfast a person could have the morning after waking up in the woods reeking of mead, hung over, and wearing bits and pieces of Tang Dynasty archer garb: toasted raisin bagels with honey butter. It turned out that my favorite mullet-touting mercenary, Mutie, also happened to know a thing or two about good food around the dirty merc campfire. Sadly, he has since claimed his seat among his fellow warriors in the halls of Valhalla, but I will always think of him fondly whenever I enjoy a good post-puking breakfast of honey butter and bagels after a night of good hard drinking. Here is his recipe for honey butter, as he described it to me.

Ingredients:

1 box of butter (4 sticks)

1 honey-bear container of honey


Place the butter in a microwaveable bowl and soften it in the microwave (the trick for melting butter in the microwave without causing it to explode is to do it for 10 to 15 seconds at a time). Pour in the honey, mix it thoroughly, and then put it in the fridge to re-form. Enjoy on toasted bagels, and make sure that you have a Bass for Mutie next time you go binge drinking in the woods.
