September 13, 1236 AD
A few hundred feet from Fisherman's Wharf city limits, the town militia begins to march towards the party. The members are armed with longspears and each suit bears a crude drawing of a green dragon. Vegeta's armor is so simiilar to that of Frieza's armor they mistake him for one of them. He switches to his casual pink shirt in response.
Fisherman's Wharf is mostly a fishing town, with a port. A high cliff looms over the town, overlooking the sea. The militia leads the party to Captain Ferras.
Captain Ferras, head of the Great Dragon Militia
She tells the party she has no interest in working with the Dragon Breakers. Or any group they are affiliated with, like the party. The Great Dragon has protected the town from Frieza's soldiers for over ten years, and the Captain has no reason to upset her.
The party decides to speak to the dragon.
Selvaydon, the Great Dragon
Selvaydon is an Old Green Dragon who wants lots and lots of fish. Hawk and Nidri manage to get a few answers out of her:
- Why the dragon took up residence here. (Frieza's troops displaced her from the forest)
- How long it was planning to stay. (Forever, demanding tribute in exchange for protection from Frieza)
- If it knows what is causing the weird weather and elementals nearby. (Don't know, don't care)
- If the dragon would help us in an offensive against Freeza or would stay completely out of it. (And leave Fisherman's Wharf? Nope)
The party returns to town just in time to witness the aftermath of a murder. A man seemingly drowned in the middle of the road. Vegeta notices two groups of people in the crowd: one watching the party with suspicion, and the other with excitement. He approaches the excited crowd and they lead him and the party to a small building near the edge of town.
Sellan Feramis, fan of Shavanni the Sage
People young and old, short and tall, brave and foolhardy live in the home, led by Sellan Feramis.
- The mayor was killed during a thunderstorm when Frieza's soldiers attacked the town.
- The dragon arrived soon after and scared the troops, but she's demanding ever increasing tributes.
- Shavanni arrived over the past few years and promised to defeat the dragon. She was last seen about a month ago.
- Shavanni also predicted the party's arrival, although she didn't expect Darius.
Fi starts asking questions about the town and the strange rain.
- Storms got worse about 10 years ago when the mayor died.
- Seems like someone drowns on land after each storm
- Militia considers it a distraction away from Frieza, not worth their time
- Mayor's son wants to fight the rain, he's at Pier 17
Sellan knows a bit about Frieza. He and his men overtook a kingdom in the east, and have been expanding from there. They hired several mercenaries from around the continent. It is a mixed blessing that the dragon keeps them at bay, but Sellan believes Shavanni can handle both of them.
Velos Crabcracker, son of the Mayor Crabcracker
The party goes to pier 17 and meets a rowdy man telling tales of sailing through the worst storm in the entire year. He compliments the party for finally talking to the winning side.
- He thinks the Shavanni fans are wishing for a miracle that will never happen
- He thinks Captain Ferras and the Militia are pawns of the dragon
- He has seen a woman made of water after the intense storms, but he can't confirm it
- If the party chases the dragon and defeats Frieza's invaders, he'll join the ETFC
Plans
Three of the major groups offer alternative ideas for the party to follow:
- Velos Crabcracker suggests they infiltrate Ginyu's camp, using a collection of Frieza army outfits he "procured." While they are sneaking in, he'll fight the dragon, even if it kills him!
- Sellan Feramis knows where Shavanni took up residence. Finding her would be extremely helpful in defeating the dragon and liberating the town. If she's there.
- Captain Ferras wants to lead an assault with the Great Dragon and the party against the Ginyu Camp. This will cement the Great Dragon's role as the town protector.
The party debates amongst themselves and decides to discover the last known whereabouts of Shavanni. She did promise Sellan to fight a green dragon, but where did she go from there?
September 14, 1236 AD
You leave town and travel towards Shavanni's lair, on the beach about half a day's travel from town. Large, colorful shells adorn the landscape, remnants of giant molluscs long gone.
An undine woman ambushes you, summoning water elementals, a mud elemental and even a giant worm! You destroy the elementals and banish the worm before she flees into the sea. With that done you continue the search and find an extradimensional space inside one of the shells.
This is Shavanni's hideaway, alright. Arcane books detailing Transmutative and Divination Theory adorn the room. Mugs of ale strewn throughout the room, all dried up. Multiple personal journals juggling between the love of her son and the lust of her lover, Alexen Dakan. Vegeta finds her concealed bedroom and notes all of the clothing and bedding has been scattered. He's not sure what to make of it.
Vegeta discovers a portal in the bathroom- a way to Incarcenarium, an endless prison dimension. You decide to enter, preparing yourselves for anything...
