Moving some stuff off the front page to here now that we've decided some things:

Locations

  • TBD, though my apartment may be packed up soon.

Dates

  • I "facebook-reserved" the weekend of the 7th, 8th, and 9th, if that makes any difference. I just wanted to snag one of the weekends in August where there *wasn't* going to be some other party going on, but I can go ahead and shift that date around easily if that needs to be done. I start work August 24th. That's all the guidelines so far.

Ideas

  • I've had two major party ideas that I have wanted to throw for a while, but they've just never seemed to coalesce into actual events. My first party idea is A Big Gay Martini Party. All the hard liquors get busted out and we make colorful delicious martinis of all types. The men are to dress in their favorite San Francisco/P-Town/Blue Oyster regalia (this is not optional - you either wear your butt shorts, your bear-wear, or your designer sweaters and fabulous Italian loafers). Ladies get their pick of wearing flannels, birkenstocks, and Ani DiFranco concert shirts, or dressing up like those hags from Sex and the City. Bonus: everyone gets a souvenir CD with the soundtrack: Instant Gay Martini Party - Just Add Vodka (a 2-hour collection of the best "hairdresser techno" - you know what I'm talking about - Carrie and I can come up with)
  • The other idea is the Tarts and Vicars party. You come dressed as a member of the clergy, your date comes dressed as a hooker. Picture booth will be set up. Classy hors d'oeuvres will be served, including an assorted cheese platter and communion wafers.
  • Steph suggested that we have professional tard farmers throughout the party who come by with the Gatorade and water.
