Familiar info says Sunshine's abilities are based on the number of levels Ezel has from classes that grant Familiar bonuses. This is 11 Wizard, as Planeshifter doesn't grant additional stuff. Is that correct?
Also, there's an entry in the Bestiary for Dogs. I'm just gonna use that (Half Fiend more than makes up for it)--Chadius 11:02, 4 February 2010 (EST)
Okay, I just spent way too much time looking this up. HERE IS MY RULING: Ezel did not start his wizarding self with a familiar. Instead, he had the other version of Arcane Bond. The one where you have an item and it gives you an extra spell. When he got Sunshine, it was as though he had obtained a free BONUS FEAT from Complete Arcane: Obtain Familiar. "For the purpose of determining familiar abilities that depend on your arcane caster level, your levels in all classes that allow you to cast arcane spells count." You also got "IMPROVED FAMILIAR" as a bonus feat, which allows you to pick "Or other fiendish animal from the standard familiar list." Okay, dog's not on the list, but big deal. ;)
Now, since special abilities are based on YOUR level- half-fiend is just too much. There IS a fiendish template somewhere in the back of the bestiary, The Internet claims. We just have to find it. :) It is slightly different from 3.5 Fiendish I hear but basically it's the same kind of thing- some darkvision, resistances, SR (which probably won't be as good as its familiar-SR). Basically he gets smite good and counts as evil.
Also he won't be flying yet, I don't think. -Zahnnie 14:19, 4 February 2010 (EST)
I've only found mention of the Fiendish template online (Huh, there's an srd of PathFinder.) http://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/rules-for-monsters/monster-advancement *reads URL* MONSTER ADVANCEMENT!
Why is this not in the index?--Chadius 14:42, 4 February 2010 (EST)
