Asterra Letter 1

Dear Big Big Brother, Big Little Brother, Big Brother, Little Big Brother, Big Big Sister, Little Big Sister, Little Sister, Mommy, and Daddy,

Do you remember how I told you about that big fight that broke out between the followers of Grigor and Escrawlhe? Well, since I got caught up in it, the captain of the guard asked me and the others who were involved to help him track down where the stolen idol went. He said that since the temples were involved, it was out of his jurisdiction. But since we were already involved we might be able to get away with poking around.

So now I'm traveling with Ember, Vitra, Mara, Manny, Maggie, and Lucia. We checked out the temples to try and figure out what happened. Lucia thought that she saw the guy who had stolen the idol, but the poor little guy was completely scared, so we didn't think that he actually had anything to do with it. After asking around we managed to discover that the group had left Skryfe heading for the Capitol. So we are currently chasing the thieves to the capital. I had to get some lighter armor so that I we can keep up with the fast traveling pace on foot, so now I'm carrying two suits!

It's nice being able to stop to rest at the inns along the way, since it is faster than making camp all the time. We just fought some wild boars that ran into us on the road. They charged at us, so we had to fight them. At first I felt bad about fighting them. One of them stabbed me in the leg with his horn, but I chopped him down with my axe. Thankfully, Mara healed me, so now I'm all better.

Mara and Ember seem to have been traveling together for some time. Ember is a tiny faerie that rides around in Mara's pockets. At least I think that she is a faerie because she looks like one, but somehow the opposite of the ones I've seen. Kinda dark instead of light except for the white hair. Mara seems very nice. She carries lots of candy to give to Ember and other people like me! We got to know each other a bit when we were waiting in jail to be questioned about the fight. I met them during that temple fight when we both got surrounded by the mob and then detained by guards.

While at the jail we also met Maggie. She had also been at the scene of the fight, and so the guards wanted to talk to her as well. She is also nice, but sometime she acts a little grumpy. I heard that she has a son who graduated mage school recently. She also has a jewelry shop in Skryfe.

Anyway, the night after the boar fight, we managed to negotiate to use the boar meat for rooms at the inn. Manny also started playing some music on his lute. He's pretty good at it. But then, oh it was so shocking. I know that mommy and daddy taught us to be respectful of other people's traditions, but it was just so, icky. Vitra threw her panties on Manny! Can you believe it! That's totally crazy! But she said that is customary where she comes from. I just can't believe it!

I met Vitra when she suddenly appeared in front of me and told me that the unicorns told her to find me. How weird, I wonder why they did that. She said that she like making maps, so I told her how to get to the cartographer's guild, since she should probably join a guild now that she is part of the hub.

I met Manny at the captain of the guard's because he came with Maggie. Evidently he had just dropped into the hub in her house. He claimed to be a vampire hunter / bounty hunter. He also seems to like to play the lute and flirt with girls. I haven't seen him flirt with any of us, but he is very nice. I think Lucia likes him though. She keeps dropping hints all over the place, but I think Manny is intentionally ignoring them.

I also met Lucia at the captain of the guard's. She had claimed to have seen the thieves who stole the idol, but I'm not sure if she actually did or not since she tried to blame that poor priestling. Well, it turns out that she is some kind of summoner. She had some weird screaming cat when we first saw her, but he disappeared and she summoned a pony instead. Right inside of the Captain's Office!

Anyway, it's time for bed, I'll write to you again soon.
