Dear Big Big Brother, Big Little Brother, Big Brother, Little Big Brother, Big Big Sister, Little Big Sister, Little Sister, Mommy, and Daddy,

In my last letter, I was writing about the adventure that we were on chasing down the idol thieves. Well, we continued chasing after them by marching through the night. We left the hostel after dinner to press on. Vitra cast create water on Manny because she decided that he needed a bath since we didn't have a chance. I think she was just using it as an excuse because I'm pretty sure that wouldn't get rid of any smell and we just had baths at the last hostel. It also must have made him uncomfortable on the rest of the hike.

As we walked down the road, I saw a bugbear trying to hide in the treelike. As we passed by, two other ran out of the woods to attack us. One attacked me, so I smashed him to the ground with my Axe. The first one that I saw tried to charge me, but I smacked him with my axe while he was trying to reach me. He was so desperate to attack me that he still pushed through and hit me while he passed out. By the time I tried to find the last bugbear, he was already messed up by the rest of the party. We decided to take their equipment since it would probably be worth something. We put most of it on the pack mule, and I carried some as well.

The road seems so different at night. You can hear the sounds of the animals off in the woods as they watch you go by. At least we could for a while. The sounds were replaced by the noises of an army encampment off the road. As we walked past the encampment, I noticed a soldier watching us from the woods. I shouted, "Hey! How's it going?" but he just ignored me. I thought it was slightly rude to downright ignore me, but I guess his job is to be on watch for potential trouble makers. Speaking of which where did Ember go during this? Well, it seems that the Imperial army has been marching north during our trek south. Any of you know what that is about?

As the night drug on Manny started staggering around, so I picked him up and carried him the rest of the night until we reached the hostel. As we got there we saw the thieves that we were chasing heading off on their horses. Two of them looked like half-elves, a guy and a girl, and the other was a big human guy. They had 4 horses, one of them was carry supplies and probably had the idol too. We slept during the day, and set off in the evening. Shortly after setting off, we were attacked by a pair of dire wolves. Our teamwork easily brought them down. I even managed to hit them both at the same time.

Before dawn broke, Maggie was getting tired, so I helped her make it to the hostel in the morning. We all rested for an hour and then set off a couple of hours before the thieves would. It's a good thing that they didn't think they were being followed. We decided to set up and ambush, and we left Ember with their horses to sabotage their straps. I hid in the trees, while everyone else hid in the brush while we waited for them.

When they reached the ambush point, Ember cut the strap on the pack horse, causing the pack with the idol to fall off. She also greased two of their horses. The fighter guy fell, but the alchemist managed to stay on his horse. Maggie popped out and shot the fallen fighter right in the middle of his chest with her arrow. Manny tried to cast something which flared up everyone around him, the horses, the bad guys, and even Maggie and Ember. Manny also tried to yell at them to surrender, but they didn't seem to care. Vitra sprayed them with color and managed to make the alchemist's horse fall asleep. He finally fell off, but managed to throw a bomb at Maggie. I finally managed to make it throughout brush and splorted the fighter with the side of my axe to knock him out. Suddenly the alchemist and rogue girl ran off.

I tapped my boots together and flew off after the alchemist in order to grab him. Ember managed to grease the rogue and caused her to fall and start crying. The alchemist managed to get out of my grip, but I grabbed him again and flew up into the air. He shouted, "I surrender, just don't drop me!" So I flew him back to the others and tied them all up. Mission accomplished!

So I gathered up all their horses and we started the trek back home. I'm going to drop this off to be delivered at the hostel, but we are going to have to avoid stopping since we have prisoners now without actually having the papers to do so. I just hope that if anyone stops us, that we can get away with saying that we are collecting the bounty on them. Manny is a bounty hunter after all…

See you soon! Love, Asterra
