the Stuff of Lost Dreams (SOLD from now on) is a more free-form run. I am creating a free-form world for the party to venture through. It is ultimately they who decide the fate of the island and its inhabitants. The PCs are expected to discuss their aspirations and goals with each other.

8/8/05 - Run #4 is complete. Jerry learned who he was, and gained some abilities. Next run: Big fat showdown!

Overview

There is an island about 300 miles off of the continent of Alenno. Ten years ago, a shipwrecked crew discovered a huge supply of gold in it. This has started a gold rush, and thousands of people are rushing over to stake a claim.

But tensions are running high. The Alenno Government wants complete control over the land - and most of the gold. An environmentalist group wants miners to stop before they destroy the land. And there are rumors of a powerful rebellious force that plans to take complete control of the island and secede from Alenno's rule.

Some people say there is something extremely magical about the island. Whispers speak of merchants learning how to fly, or peasants growing twice their size. Some rumors speak of famous merchants and powerful warriors suffering cruel deaths. It would explain the high rate of disappearances on the island.

GM to Players:

the Stuff of Lost Dreams is a Tri-Stat dX run. You (The PCs) will work as a team on a self-contained island. One big feature of this run is that there are few goals. In other words, it's not Good-vs-Evil-because-I-told-you-to run. You will eventually decide the fate of the island and your careers. Peace? Power? Freedom? You decide.

And by "you decide," I mean the party agrees on a course of action. Now, overnight you guys can argue about what should be done. But the party should have attitudes that generally agree with each other, and a goal that should lie with those principles.

Game Statistics:

Tri-Stat dX game, using d6 as Game Dice.
50 Character Points
8 max Body, Mind, or Soul
20 Skill Points, max skill level 3, uses the Low Fantasy skill set.

Possible Reasons why you would join the party:
- You were cheap hired muscle. You develop an agenda of your own as you experience events unfolding on the island.
- Your friend was doing successfully on this island until he died recently. You're here to inherit his land/figure out what happened.
- One of the major factions sent for you and will dispatch on a long-term mission on the island. You may stay loyal to them, or betray them.
