Li's fate weaver speech

I am Tao Jin Li, a monk from a monastery in the mountains near Epo. I have been working with this team from The Other Agency for some time now, and they have opened my eyes to the larger world around us.

All fateweavers bear a terrible burden, one I would not wish upon anyone: the power to change the world with an effort of will. This power gives you dominion over an aspect of the reality in which the rest of us live.

Some would have us believe this is reason to fear you, others to worship you. Even with my limited time getting to know those few of you who I have met outside of these council halls, I do not believe either of these to be the correct approach. You are indeed immensely powerful within your domains, but you are still living creatures, prone to the same imperfections as the rest of us.

I have been walking this earth for hundreds of years. Does that give me the right to judge those who are younger than me? I am far stronger than most people I have met. Does that give me the right to force them to my will?

All I can ask is for you to approach your influence upon your domains with great care and consideration. Be deliberate, and remember that your actions will not only affect all beings within our reality, but also reflect upon all fateweavers, and upon yourself. Change is the way of the world, and is not something to be feared or hated, but not everyone shares that view.

Thank you.
