A tale

Gather around. It's a good story. It's the tale of a group of heroes who saved this grove ten years ago. They saved lives, routed evil and asked for nothing in return.

Some of you, I know are skeptical. Why would they do that? OK, Querca was from this grove, yes so she would protect it. But what about her companions? Let me begin the day before the rescue...

They were set to return home after a trip through the Plane of Air when they reached their ship in the Astral Plane. Good times if you're a smartie, if the Githyanki and the Astral Beasts don't get to you first, ha. And so they met what was left of good old Fire Ender.

Some of you might remember 'ol Fire Ender. He was a good friend of mine, once I tried to pronounce his full name from memory. Took an hour but he was quite impressed a non-Tremen actually remembered his name. Sadly he had been taken by a deadly curse. He and his friends managed to leave a final message: The grove was under attack. Fire Ender's weasel friend managed to survive and would guide them.

Pazuzu and a fleet of dragons invaded the grove, waylaid our defenses and captured our High Lady. They stole a trinket of some kind. Well it looked like a trinket to most of us but it was a crystal that controlled black dragons. Yes, very interesting hm?

They returned to the material plane--that's this place ladies and gents--and headed towards...ah...

A tale, a too

That Old Man's home, silly! Anyway, I helped TOM out (that's what we call him) for a while. They came in and the one dude, Michael? So cute.

Speaking of cute, I swear it was the most cute puppy ever. Well, it had bat wings and its breath was a little stinky. But it ran up to the bony guy and was so happy! He said it was a gift from his mother or something that is SO NICE. But he can't find Mother; he's holding up pretty well though. Speaking of mothers!

So Michael? Yeah he asked some angels to help his mother. Looks like one of them came by and helped her. There was a device strapped to her head. Michael could guide his mother towards salvation. Oh, Dragon girl helped out too. In fact I think everyone but the skinny guy went to help.

So what's the best way to describe it? Well it was pretty cool, like Michael would grow horns, and he'd get leathery wings and all that. Dragon girl thought that was hot, yeah me too. Anyway they went on for a bit and his mom looked more and more like a regular ol' angel. Not my thang but they were so happy when she woke up!

With that done it was time to get some intel on the grove! It looks like whoever was invading was calling more Black Dragons over. Huh? Oh you want to take over?

Three Tales! Ah ah ah!

Pazuzu attracted more and more black dragons to the grove. He was taking up a base here it seemed. Our heroes choose to head over and see how much intel they could get. Now Querca, she understood how the wind blew. She skipped all over the grove, like pollen, and spoke to the land itself. It was wounded, but it gave her the best way to approach our grove; especially where our leader was.

Querca said that Sil, the uh, Draconic female there, had discovered a Black Dragon who wasn't under control. Facing that thing and not killing it took a bit of restraint. The dragon's mate and four children were held; the children were kidnapped and the father was blackmailed into turning into a dumb guard. They asked the dragon to act as a distraction and lure the green dragons away so the party could break the bind on the black dragons.

It was time to reclaim the homeland from the invaders. Querca travelled quickly through the forest and drew a map to guide the others through. In the dead of night they approached from the backside, slipping past the sentries due to Querca's thorough knowledge of the area. Oh! Excuse me but-

Finally!

Bah, overheard you guys talkin'. So I'm going to tell you what really happened there. I couldn't move but Dad explained everything later. So they tried to brainwash Charra, right? Huh, yeah Charra had the talisman that controlled Black Dragons. So anyway the Gold Dragon screws it up (of course) and they had to fight. Charra ran to call for backup, but she didn't expect all the Green Dragons away - yeah duh they were chasing Mom around and couldn't catch up.

This left Charra with two dragons, Dad a totally awesome Black Dragon who was only there to rescue his kith (he knew we would make it out alright) and some stupid Green Dragon. Anyways, the Gold Dragon and Charra are fighting and stuff and finally, FINALLY Charra loses control of the talisman. Right! She was on the ceiling when she got KOed. Yeah but then the stupid Green Dragon chomped her. Yeah that sucks. Dad was so gonna kill that Green Dragon but he let the humanoids help out. Cause ya know they would tire out and he could kill them easily.

But then came his kith from the holding cells. Looks like the remaining humanoids freed the prisoners. Dad was in a good mood so he let the humanoids live and left. Ya know, to look for Mom and us. And that's how it happened. Ok bye.

Aftermath

Well that was an interesting guest. Now where was I before he interrupted? Right so they began the assault on- oh you want me to skip that part.

Our High Lady was free, but weak. Querca was quick on the recovery. As we could not protect the Black Talisman anymore, we gave it to Querca and the other saviors for safe keeping. We were worried of retaliation. One of Querca' allies, the old man, found a powerful tool to give us a view of the terrain. He said it was a throne Pazuzu left behind. Whoever sat upon it would gain clairvoyance and be able to view quite a distance. I suppose that's how Pazuzu tracked our defenses so easily.

One of Querca's other allies, the winged boy, summoned a very bright creature. Oh, what? Ah it was a radiant dragon. Very bright, very valiant, very strong. It was his new mount. I suppose so.

We thanked them and offered them rest. But they were busy, and wanted to take a look at the tools Pazuzu brought. Especially the glass orb Pazuzu brought. Good, good. It was time for us to repair the damage done to the grove.
