I got this from a cookbook Mom has, called Feed Me, I'm Yours. A wonderful little compendium for those who want to raise children without going completely nuts. If I ever have any of the little podlings, I'm sure to ask her if I can have it.

M&M Cookies

Ingredients

1 cup oil/shortening/butter/etc
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
2 1/4 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
m&m's...about a cup, with extra for candies stolen, secreted in pockets, and eaten outright.

To Cook:

  • Preheat oven to 375° F.
  • Cream together shortening, sugars, eggs, and vanilla.
  • Mix together dry ingredients and combine with creamed mixture.
  • Drop by teaspoonful onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Flatten to not more than 2". Decorate with the m&m's, placing 4-6 m&m's per cookie. If cooking for children, be sure that the number of candies per cookie is the same for all.
  • Bake for 8-10 minutes. Cookies may crack after baking.

Makes 2-4 dozen cookies.
