Rules for character creation

Here are some places to start

  • Stats: 30 points or 4d6 8 times (Please have me there when you roll)
  • HP: Level 1 max, level 2 roll, must get at least 50%
  • Level: 2 (Unless otherwise required to be 3)
  • Races: Please check with me, but I'm good with 1-ish ecl (If you convince me to let you play a 2 ecl race, the base level will be raised to 3 for everyone.)
  • Money: Your starting money will be based on your class + 100gp and a "bonus" magical item.
  • Traits: For now I'm going to say everyone gets one trait. If you have a question about whether you qualify for a trait, let me know. I may up it to 2 traits before game starts.
  • XP/Advancement: Everyone is starting at 2000xp, medium advancement rate.

What everyone knows

About 100 years ago "something" happened that caused a huge ruckus across all of creation. Magic and Technology changed. Worlds that had a lot of one or the other seemed to suddenly reverse. The more balanced the two were, the less that happened, though there were some odd changeovers for everyone. Some time after this change, everything seemed to revert back to how it was. Few people know the details of this switch, such as how long it was for or what caused it.

Please note that you are not required to start in The Hub, and if you decide that's not where you're from, you'll fall in like "everyone else". If you are from The Hub, you'll have some more information about the world and how it works, though expect it to be a different world than the one in the old run. Most of the mechanics will be the same, but not all of them. The rise and fall of the gods has changed things a bit.
