Scrapelle recipe

Ingredients

  • 5 cups flour
  • 5 tsp salt
  • 2 envelopes of yeast
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 3 potatoes, mashed well
  • Enough water to knead into dough

Instructions

  1. Sift flour into bowl
  2. Add salt and sugar
  3. Bloom yeast according to directions
  4. Add mashed potatoes and yeast to flour mixture
  5. Knead together and add water as needed to make dough sitcky but not too mushy
  6. Let rise for over an hour until doubles in size (use a oiled bowl and cover it)
  7. Deep fry in oil at 375 degrees in strips or balls
  8. Serve as is or with powdered sugar
