LongestRoad Barasht

Barasht is a well-trained Spell Siphon and a good teacher, though he is not so talented at either as Klynne. His markings are white, looking almost like pale, faded scars on his aging skin, and his white hair lends an additional look of age to his face. Most people assume he is quite old. While his age is advanced, especially for a Pevishan, he is not quite as old as his pale coloring makes him seem. He, however, has had less luck than some others in extending his short, Pevishan lifespan through magical means.

Often, he trains small classes of students, between two and six, at a time. It is rare to have more than one student from a class who succeeds in learning the ways of a Siphon. Sometimes, none of them do. Usually, they are students who did not pass Klynne's tests, or who have cowed away from her harsh treatment early in their training, but did not want to travel further to find a new teacher.

He spoke politely to Ellowyn, the times they bumped into each other in town, at the store or the tavern, but they never developed any relationship nor had any deep discussions.
